In our 1st grade classroom, we celebrate this occasion by reading books about the environment, discussing the three R’s (Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle), and engaging in Earth Day activities. Earth Day FreebiesĮarth Day is an excellent opportunity to teach children about the importance of protecting our planet and how they can make a difference. Students can open up the egg, solve the problem, and write the answer on their recording sheet! This activity encourages active learning and problem-solving and is a great way to add some Easter fun to your math curriculum! Then, hide the eggs around the classroom for students to find. To set up this activity, simply print out math task cards, cut them out, and place them inside plastic Easter eggs.
